About Our Storefront

Our home away from home!

We have a great many more wonderful items for sale in our storefront than we could possibly show you on our web site. Besides the huge variety of jewelry pieces we produce ourselves, we also carry loose stones, work by other artists and carefully selected manufactured goods, such as posters by Luis Royo & Victoria Frances, fantasy & pre-Raphaelite prints, cards, handmade leather journals and imaginative gift items.

We started The Dragon's Treasure storefront on June 28, 1979 in a tiny upstairs room of an old Victorian house that had been converted to shops. We are currently in our third and largest shop, but still in the Fresno Tower District, which we love. In addition to selling at our storefront, we sell at shows across California and wholesale our handmade jewelry to all kinds of shops across the country. We started this website in August 2002. Our shop hours can vary as we are sometimes away at shows, either buying or selling for our store.

So if you're going to be in the neighborhood (we're on the way to both Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks), first contact us to make sure we're not closed to go to a show. Otherwise, our hours are Tuesday through Friday 11-5:30 and Saturday 11-5.

Take the Olive Avenue exit from Freeway 99 east for 5-10 minutes and you're here! Parking in the area is free. There is a parking lot behind our building and there are also several other parking lots close by and parking on the street as well.

The Tower District has many absolutely unique locally owned businesses, including galleries, small shops, an antique mall, clothing stores, restaurants and coffee shops. You'll have a wonderful time.

About Us We are a husband and wife team.

Our Artist & Jeweler Robert Spickard has been making jewelry since he was sixteen. He learned how to create wax models, cast and finish them from a very special art teacher while in high school. A few years after graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in history, he and his wife opened The Dragon's Treasure to display and sell his creations. This brings us to--

Our Web Site The feminine half of our partnership, Lisa Shuck, who created this web site. She used the Shopping Cart System from Scsystem.com and Adobe's Elements. She highly recommends these fine products. This website would not have been possible without the generous help of Eric Gerds of www.filk.com. Help from other friends, in alphabetical order, Arlin, Carol, Dave and Kimiko, was greatly appreciated!
