The Ancient Celts lived in Europe and Western Asia. Gradually pushed westward by the expanding Roman Empire, remnants of their people still live in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Brittany.

The artwork they left behind was glorious! Inspired by this, we offer our interpretation of Celtic greatness.

Like all the jewelry on our website, all our Celtic Jewelry is handmade by Robert Spickard.

A. Ribbon Work Celtic Cross Sterling Silver Pendant
In ancient times the Celts carved crosses out of massive stones. To give these large carvings greater strength, the clever Celts added a circle to help support the outstretched arms of the cross. The loveliness of the resulting design meant that it was used in other arts, such as jewelry or embroidery, not for strength but for beauty.

Our sterling silver cross features intricate Celtic knot work sweeping down its length.

Original design, inspired by many ancient examples.

About 1 7/16 inches long, not including loops.
